Modeling Geometry for Linear Feature Generalization

چکیده

This paper highlights the importance of modeling the geometry of linear features in order to generalize them. It proposes a constructive approach by segmenting lines and qualifying sections detected according to different criteria at several levels ("hierarchical" process). The aim of such an approach is clearly to guide the choices of adequate sequences of generalization operations and algorithms, and also to provide basic tools for assessing the quality of the results of generalization alternatives in terms of shape maintenance.

Application of the Extreme Learning Machine for Modeling the Bead Geometry in Gas Metal Arc Welding Process

Rapid prototyping (RP) methods are used for production easily and quickly of a scale model of a physical part or assembly. Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) is a widespread process used for rapid prototyping of metallic parts. In this process, in order to obtain a desired welding geometry, it is very important to predict the weld bead geometry based on the input process parameters, which are voltage...

Modeling and design of a diagnostic and screening algorithm based on hybrid feature selection-enabled linear support vector machine classification

Background: In the current study, a hybrid feature selection approach involving filter and wrapper methods is applied to some bioscience databases with various records, attributes and classes; hence, this strategy enjoys the advantages of both methods such as fast execution, generality, and accuracy. The purpose is diagnosing of the disease status and estimating of the patient survival. Method...

Factor analysis invariant to linear transformations of data

Modeling data with Gaussian distributions is an important statistical problem. To obtain robust models one imposes constraints the means and covariances of these distributions [6, 4, 10, 8]. Constrained ML modeling implies the existence of optimal feature spaces where the constraints are more valid [2, 3]. This paper introduces one such constrained ML modeling technique called factor analysis i...

A New High-order Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy Model Based on Deformed Linear Models

Amongst possible choices for identifying complicated processes for prediction, simulation, and approximation applications, high-order Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy models are fitting tools. Although they can construct models with rather high complexity, they are not as interpretable as first-order TS fuzzy models. In this paper, we first propose to use Deformed Linear Models (DLMs) in consequence pa...

New Path Equations in Absolute Parallelism Geometry

The Bazanski approach, for deriving the geodesic equations in Riemannian geometry, is generalized in the absolute parallelism geometry. As a consequence of this generalization three path equations are obtained. A striking feature in the derived equations is the appearance of a torsion term with a numerical coefficients that jumps by a step of one half from equation to another. This is tempting ...
